QED and the Karstadt New Generation Award

The Karstadt New Generation Award was one highlight of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Four young, up-and-coming fashion labels, menswear and women's wear along, were nominated and QED took the prize home. QED, as in short for quod erat demonstrandum, is a Berlin-based menswear label, founded by Julia Böge, Simona Gabrieli and Jasmin Moallim in 2006. With their third collection, meant for fall 2008, they won the Karstadt New Generation Award, presented Monday, 28 January, 2008, during the second edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin (January 28th to 31st).
As winner of the New Generation Award, QED will have the opportunity to design a collection for Karstadt, which will be sold, as fall 2008 season starts, at Karstadt's premium stores like KaDeWe (Berlin), Oberpollinger (Munich) and the Alsterhaus (Hamburg).

QED’s collection for autumn/winter 2008 uses a stark black and white palette, aimed for men with an understated style, men who express themselves by using subtle statements. The three designers create a unique mix between simple, clear cuts and playfulness using luxurious, subtly extravagant details; clothes that are very wearable and high in quality.
