OAK's menswear collection
The first full menswear collection by Oak is inspired by the "crashing metal scene" with a youthful take on classic pieces such as the blazer, the pea coat or the biker jacket. Shorter hems, unusual zip and button details, plaids and cool prints will sure appeal to the young and skinny, I-pod listening, fashion-aware man.
And there are the sport pieces: the sweatshirt becomes a short sleeved hoodie or a shawl collared cardigan while the flannel parka with hanging straps looks like the star of the Oak's menswear collection.
The color palette is almost all-black (different hues, though) with small breaches of white and blue-and-red plaid pattern. The two designers at Oak, Jeff Madalena and Louis Terline are also the owners of the high street hip store gathering classic and up-and-coming international fashion labels to promote a conceptual, urban style.
They have been designing under the Oak label a women's clothing line and experimenting with menswear. The fall 2008 collection is the first collection for the Oak menswear line and has until now almost 20 pieces with more to come.
