Mongrels In Common Spring 2008
Mongrels In Common is a young and ambitious Berlin based label designing both menswear and womenswear. With their fall 2008 collection they got a nomination for this year's Karstadt New Generation Award. Mongrels In Common's designers Livia Ximénez-Carrillo and Christine Pluess met at Esmod School of Design in Berlin. Their label was found in Mai 2006 and with their first selling collection they won the "PREMIUM YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARD" for best menswear fall/winter 2006/2007 at premium exhibitions in Berlin.
"Mongrelism" is the essence of every Mongrels In Common collection meaning a mix of cultural references, combining ultramodern design with a casual, classical style, and subdued shades with flamboyant colors, all this "translated" into high-quality materials. Mongrels In Common rediscovered the pin-collar, a traditional male shirt detail, which is used as an exclusive new way to button garments.

Though I'm not crazy about those skinny jeans or about the front-pleated trousers I can say that I really fancy those shirts and the gray leather jacket. Also, that yellow shade looks surprisingly decent teamed up with neutrals.
The label's fall 2008 collection will be soon displayed at www.mongrelsincommon.com
