Filippa K spring 2011 collection keeps up with the Swedish fashion label's signature characteristics: clean lines with a sensual ease continuously exploring the mix of heritage style and contemporary minimalism.
The menswear lookbook presents the season’s trends in coats and jackets, from utilitarian outerwear - the trench coat, the army jacket and the leather bomber jacket in vintage brown - to the smart casual poplin and soft jersey blazers and the sophisticated one-button navy wool dinner jacket. Throw in the mix stonewash denim, light spring knits, cotton slacks and suede desert boots, all in a neutral color palette jazzed up with bright orange and you have an I-want-them-all collection, fresh as a sunny spring morning.
Founded in 1993 by Filippa Knutsson and her partners Patrik Kihlborg and Karin Segerblom, Filippa K developed from a home business (in its first year of trading) to one of Scandinavia’s fastest growing clothing companies, arriving today at an annual revenue of 45 million euros and an international marketplace (40 brand stores in Europe and USA, 750 selected retailers worldwide.)
What is its formula for success? The Swedish founders say that they follow their core values, style, simplicity and quality in every detail of their brand, meaning menswear and womenswear collections, their own store designs, artistic direction of their fashion shows and ad campaigns. Filippa K makes “distinctive fashion for modern urbanites with personal integrity and an eye for good design…people who are confident enough to be sophisticated, yet curious enough to be fashionable. “
