Young menswear label Conference of Birds, held by designer and stylist Andrew Holden, is a smart mix of polished British tailoring and rugged American work wear, a look portrayed by its initiator as "nostalgically modern". There's something very wistful about the new generation of designers.
Holden's spring/summer 2009 collection gathers urban cuts and slender shapes within a simple, neutral palette, redefining classic pieces such as blazers, trenches, shirts and jeans and introducing refined versions of cargo trousers and ultra hip harem shorts; all teamed up with "combat" boots and pointy lace-up shoes.
