Not so common shoes

Some of the most stylish summer shoes come from design duo Common Projects. The New York based label, known for its luxury and cutting-edge sneakers, turns on the dressy side for this summer and puts forwards a line of stylish Jazz-oxford shoes in fine perforated leather or suede.

Along these classy lace-up (some lace-free) slip-ons, desert-boot-sneaker hybrids in off-white, grey and black suede make a good choice for summer smart casualness. Simple and functional design, timeless appeal and high-quality materials are the main features of Common Projects' design philosophy which took shape, until now, in tennis-shoe-inspired trainers.

Each pair of shoes from Common Project is a well thought-out creative experiment, with the branding kept anonymous; the label signature is only the article number, color and size code stamped in gold on the heel.

Common Projects is a designing collaboration between Prathan Poopat, an industrial and graphic designer, and Flavio Girolami, a well known consultant for creative agencies that work with luxury Italian brands.
